HUNDREDS of young people involved in the agricultural industry are expected to attend the GrainGrowers' annual Innovation Generation conference, set to be held in Adelaide in July.
The event will be held at the National Wine Centre of Australia with a focus theme of "driving forward".
The three-day event will comprise a mix of speakers, panel discussions on emerging agriculture, practical workshops, off-site tours, and social functions.
Topics will include the application and on-farm adoption of cutting-edge technology, carbon measurement and improved farm productivity, agricultural career opportunities and skills of the future.
Speakers confirmed to date include Egan Farming farm manager Brad Egan, Scaddan, WA, Ability Ag founder Josie Clarke, Rufftrack co-founder Dave Graham, Maro Creek & Wilkinson partner Judy Wilkinson, Thankyou managing director Daniel Flynn, Ruralscope leadership development specialist Jo Eady, Futurist Steve Sammartino, Viva Energy Australia head of hydrogen & EVs Sandra Lau, and Primary Producers SA graduate policy officer James Easter.
GrainGrowers chief executive officer Shona Gawel said the event was an ideal opportunity to network with agriculture industry leaders across commodities and connect with other young farmers.
"The development of Australian agriculture has always relied on people who are prepared to do things differently, and it is exciting to see young people getting involved and taking up the challenge," she said.
Ms Gawel said the event brings together a range of great speakers with real-world experience.
"The speakers have been chosen to challenge, encourage, and get people thinking," she said.
"It will be a fantastic opportunity for attendees to share ideas and information that will drive forward their journey in Australian agriculture."
