Sheep numbers eased at the Ouyen, Vic, Livestock Exchange, last week, with just more than 6000 head on offer.
The 5166 lambs on offer trended $5 to $10 cheaper for those going to the trade, making $114-$170 ($6.20 a kilogram to $6.80/kg) and heavier lambs were firm to $5 dearer, making $170- $210 ($6-$6.60/kg), while store lambs sold to $104.
Waymel, Ouyen, Vic, made the $210 top price for 53 crossbred lambs, while Munro Brothers, Ouyen, offered 49 and made $205.
RC&FA Dalton, Tempy, offered 32 at $207 and IC&BJ Brown, Lameroo, had 168 make $204.
T&S Monaghan, Tempy, Vic, sold 27 at $205 and AW&JA Barnfield, Buronga, offered 67 and made $203, while N&F Hamilton, Timberoo, sold 73 at $201.
A run of 30 crossbreds from H McKay, Chinkapook, made $199 and M.U.T, Tempy, offered 72 at $198.
Merino lambs sold to $172 ($6-$6.40/kg) with the top price paid for 12 from Kulwin Ag, Kulwin, while IF&MH Kramer, Murrayville, made $168 for 64. F Stone, Torrita, offered 18 Merino lambs and made $166.
GJ&JM Lambert, Pooncarie, offered 47 and made $163.
Lambs from shedding breeds reached $154 for 20 from R Dodds, Wagan, and Court Narreen Produce, Carwarp, made $144 for 67.
Returns for mutton improved slightly, with lighter lots trending firm to $5 dearer, selling between $74 to $100 ($3.50/kg- $4/kg) while heavier mutton was $10 to $12 cheaper at $95 to $136 ($3.20-$3.50/kg), with 835 mutton yarded in total.
Tamaleuca P/L, Ouyen, offered 29 and made $136, while Brown Ag, Underbool, made $136 for 17. Timberoo P/L, Timberoo, made $122 for 22.
