The strawberry season is officially upon us, with the official launch held in Adelaide on Wednesday last week (November 10).
The launch, held at Tony and Mark's Brickworks store, was facilitated by Pick A Local Pick SA, with growers and key industry members in attendance and new season strawberries available to sample.
Master Chef's Callum Hann ran a cooking demonstration, while Ten's Jodie Oddy took part in a cake decorating competition.
The Childhood Cancer Association was the beneficiary of the event, with all proceeds from every punnet of strawberries sold at all seven Tony and Marks stores that day donated to the association.
$10k was raised for charity, surpassing last year's fundraising efforts.
Pick a Local, Pick SA! campaign manager Penny Reidy, said the quality of this season's strawberries was impressive, particularly considering a number of challenges through the year.

"We're excited about the taste and flavour of the SA new season strawberries available," she said.
"Our growers have had a tough year with COVID, fruit fly and hailstorms - we would love the community to support our growers and pick up some SA grown strawberries."
Ms Reidy said SA is known to produce some of the best-tasting strawberries in Australia.
"The Adelaide Hills provide ideal soils and climate for growing strawberries and we are excited to be tasting sweet flavoursome fruit again this season," she said.
"Pick a Local, Pick SA! fruit and vegetable store shelves will be stocked with great tasting locally grown strawberries for the next few months - perfect for summer entertaining and healthy snacks."
