MURRAY BRIDGE
Yarding: 5500
Ewes to $280
THERE were plenty of bids flying at the off-shears sale at Murray Bridge on Friday, coming from the array of producers at the yards and via AuctionsPlus.
Nutrien Murray Bridge livestock agent Mark Thurston said the support from AuctionsPlus had underpinned the sale with many bids coming off the platform as well as in the saleyards.
"We are really happy with the market result," he said.
"It was just above expectations, but AuctionsPlus for our side of the market, really underpinned it.
"The yarding was exceptional with some of the earlier areas presenting really well.
"But even those which were later in the season are starting to come into their feed now."
He said the trade still operated on some of the older ewes.
"But restockers were chasing the younger ewes and a lot of them went locally," he said.
Elders Murray Bridge livestock agent Scott Eichler said the sale had met his expectations.
"Good ewes made good money," he said.
