Crossbred lambs to $200
VENDORS left the Murray Bridge saleyards with a spring in their steps on Monday afternoon, with lambs of all types lifting by $10 to $20 on the corresponding sale three weeks ago.
Strong competition between processors resulted in heavier lambs topping at $200, with most for the trade selling between $150-$200.
Feedlotters were also active, with store lambs generally making $120-$140, and lighter types making $80-$120.
Elders Murray Bridge agent Scott Eichler and Nutrien Murray Bridge agent Mark Thurston agreed that the market was $10-$20 dearer on all types when compared to the sale in late August.
"I think the processors have got their kills back on track so a few pockets have opened up," Mr Eichler said.
"The south east lambs are a little bit behind still as well.
"They're probably another month or so away."

Mr Eichler said the killable lambs, which made up two-thirds of their yarding, were presented exceptionally well.
Mr Thurston said there was a sense of buoyancy among buyers, with lambs for all types available and general industry confidence rebuilding.
The high point of $200 was reached twice on lambs from the same vendor.
The first pen of the sale, 61 crossbred lambs from CA Paech & K Molnar, Tepko, were knocked down for $200 to JBS, with another 103 making the same money to SA Meats.
Receiving $188 from SA Meats for 43 crossbred lambs was L&D Herbig, Callington.
Both making $185 for lambs sold to JBS were Marmon Pastoral, Jabuk, who offloaded another 43 crossbreds after topping the August sale at $190, and RD Thiele, Monarto South, who sold 41 head.
Selling 101 crossbred lambs to JBS for $182 was AW Horstmann, Milendella, while 42 from JG Richards & Sons, Brinkley, made $180 to SA Meats.

The same buyer snapped up 134 crossbred lambs from SN&CA Paech, Tepko, for $178, while a large line of 280 lambs from West Creek Partners, Langhorne Creek, made $174 to Midfield Meats.
Midfield also bought 139 crossbred lambs from Kubenk Nominees for $170.
Ettrick producers RN&LA Bald & Sons yarded close to 650 crossbred lambs, with their top line of 145 head making $170 to SA Meats.
They received $162 for their secondary line of 202 lambs from Midfield and $160 for their third run of 301 from Nampara, Lucindale.
Both making $165 for 42 and 21 crossbred lambs respectively to Midfield were RM&TE Hein, Burdett, and DJ Fromm & Son, Walker Flat.
AH&SA Dunn, Milang, sold 54 crossbred lambs to SA Meats for $162, with 14 from M Miegel making the same money.
All making $161 were DJ Fromm&Son, HP&AE Graetz and L&D Herbig.
The next Murray Bridge lamb sale is scheduled for September 26, with a ewe and lamb sale to be held on October 10.
