In the month of October in 1999, the Yorke Peninsula Field Days were in full swing as well as White Suffolk and Poll Dorset stud sales. But it was the plethora of sheep markets that drew the largest crowds, with young ewes fetching solid returns. Harvest was about to begin for some parts of the state but after a less than ideal season, morale was low.
