At least four blazes required a Country Fire Service response on Tuesday, as wind gusts reached 60 km per hour across the state.
The CFS said the fires, which were located around the Coorong and Upper South East, were predominantly wind driven, with strong winds of up to 50km/h, gusting up to 60km/h.
The largest fire of the day was at Malinong, where approximately 535ha of stubble and scrub was burnt.
Called in at 11.30am, the fire was believed to have started in canola stubble.
The CFS said 96 personnel attended, with 14 tankers, two bulk water carriers, one light rural vehicle and two command vehicles in addition to two fixed wing bombers, one fixed wing observational aircraft and two helicopters with a total of 31 waters drops on the site.
A watch and act message was issued during the height of the fire, but it was contained that afternoon.
At Cannawigara, approximately 50ha of scrub was burnt in a blaze which was called in at about 1.30pm, with the fire about 2km from the Dukes Highway.
A total of 34 CFS personnel, with seven tankers, one bulk water carrier, one light rural vehicle and one command vehicle attended the scene and the Dukes Highway was closed for a period of hours
A fire was called in at Culburra at about 12.17pm, where a total of 200ha was burnt, with 20 CFS personnel in three tankers and 12 farm firefighting units attending the scene.
An advice message was issued by the CFS just before 1pm but the fire was completed at about 5pm.
A fire at Hynam burnt about 40ha of grass, and the CFS assisted the Victorian Country Fire Authority with six CFS tankers and aircraft completing six water drops.
A blaze at Poltalloch was called in to emergency services but it did not require CFS involvement.
A further fire at Cannawigara was called in on Wednesday but completed shortly after.
Fire danger season finished in the Upper South East and the Murraylands on April 15.
