WHILE clearance rates were down, the Kurrabi Park stud was pleased to increase the top price and averages at its Suffolk and White Suffolk ram sale in Koppio recently.
Overall, the Dennis family offered 35 Suffolks, with 18 selling to $1200 twice and averaging $700, while 17 of 35 White Suffolks offered sold to $1600, averaging $835.
Logan Dennis said was happy with the sale result.
"The clearance was a little disappointing, but many of our clients are focusing on building ewe flocks, so we hope they'll eventually return to buy terminal rams," he said.
There were 12 registered buyers, mainly from local areas, with 11 taking home rams.

Return client Robert Calderwood, Pernella, Koppio, bought three rams averaging $967, including the $1600 top price White Suffolk.
The 14-month-old had Australian Sheep Breeding Value figures of 10 for weaning weight, 15 for post-weaning weight and 1 post-weaning eye muscle depth.
"It was a very good home-bred ram, one we had selected for our own flock, but it just didn't have the figures we were chasing for our stud ewes," Mr Dennis said.
The second-highest price White Suffolk made $1300, offered at lot 1, bought by repeat client CD&JM Skinner, Cummins.
The Skinners also bought in volume, taking home seven Suffolk and White Suffolk rams, averaging $1000.
Two were the $1200 top price Suffolk rams.
Another volume buyer was AR&DA Arbon, Lock, with five Suffolk rams to $800, averaging $720.
Elders and Landmark were the sale agents, with Elders' Tony Wetherall at the rostrum.
