A multi-national energy company has seeked permission to raise the height of turbines at a proposed Yorke Peninsula wind farm and it has prompted SA Best's Connie Bonaros to reinforce calls for an SA wind farm moratorium.
The company are hoping to raise the height of its turbines from 163 metres to 220m.
Ms Bonaros will attend the latest State Commission Assessment Panel hearing into a wind farm being proposed at Crystal Brook by French company Neoen at Port Pirie today.
Last year, Ms Bonaros called for the state government to freeze all new wind farm projects because of community concerns about the growing size and generation capacity of wind farm projects planned for SA.
But a push for a wind farm moratorium was knocked back in state parliament in November last year because of its potential to inhibit investment in SA.
