People from near and far chose to enjoy the last of the summery weather and flocked through the gates at the Golden North Laura Fair at the weekend.
The fair which was held across two days typically attracts 10,000 to 15,000 patrons and unbelievably was pulled together by a small number of volunteers on the committee.
At the official opening chairperson Virginia Ferguson, Gladstone, held back tears of appreciation for all the committee and volunteers recognising their hard efforts.
The fair also had a yellow brick road which attracted many families to get about the full experience of the event.
Minister Geoff Brock declared the fair opened which had over 100 stalls for people to shop, show rides, food trucks, an art gallery exhibition and live entertainment until 10PM on Saturday, followed by Golden North's ice cream eating competition on Sunday.
Stock Journal's KIARA STACEY got amongst the action and snapped these event goers.
