Quite a few times in the past few days, I've made it out of my air-conditioned office and away from the back-to-school congested city roads and had the opportunity to refresh my driver's arm tan and inhale eau-de-cow.

While there is probably a little more to write about when the situation is not so good in the ag industry, it's certainly a lot more fun to report about the sector when things are going well.
Which meant the past few days have been a bit of a blast. I've been covering markets at prices that show the value of the effort put in - but not so high the buyer gets burnt.
I've been talking to some of the state's leading seed stock producers about something that they're really proud of - the quality bulls they produce every year.
I spoke with a woman who, three years ago, was a banker, but is now making her impression on the industry.
Of course, nothing is ever completely shiny.
There are still tough times in the sector - with the flood that seems so long ago for many, still lingering for a few.
This is part of what makes talking about the positive times so important.
It's a reminder for those going through the tough times - and there are always going to be those in farming - there is hope for good times ahead.
