Nutrien Ag Jamestown auctioneer Shannon Jaeschke said the sheep were from northwest pastoral country and mainly within a local area within a 100 kilometre radius.
"Many vendors went early with the way the season was so we are getting some of these later runs of lambs and later shorn and breeding sheep," he said.
"We didn't have as much weight in the top edge of our Merino lambs but the handful of consignments of crossbreds we had, had some weight and freshness about them so that's why they've gone to the trade.
"Our lamb job was similar to last fortnights sale but our crossbred lamb job was dearer, no doubt, mainly on the back a bit more weight and freshness, a few more shorn lamps on the couple of pens we had, and the woolly crossbred were quite sappy straight-off mum."
"The ewe job was certainly stronger and that's off the back of the rain that has been around, more so interstate."
He said it was boosting buyer confidence with ewe hoggets $20 to $30 dearer on better selected pens.
Elders Jamestown auctioneer Simon Harding said there was a very good lineup of wether lambs and a top line of crossbred lambs that were sold buy two vendors.
"The lamb job in whole would have been about $10 dearer than the previous Jamestown market," he said.
"Buyers came from Mount Gambier, Bendigo, Ouyen, Swan Hill, Mildura and Bordertown as well as locally.
"The rain has probably had a fair bit to do with attracting interstate buyers with it falling across the Eastern Seaboard and Riverina - the rain has affected the market."
The next Jamestown Market will be held on December 14.
