There were some glimmers of hope for the lamb market nationally during October, with light lamb, up $1.04 to $4.07; Merino lamb, up $1.09 to $3.31 and restocker lamb, up $1.06 to $3.99.

Unfortunately mutton did not have the same jumps, up just 7 cents in the same period.
But there still were positive price movements during the month.
In cattle, prices were largely static but the positive signs came in increased interest from restockers on the back of improved seasonal forecasts and talk of processors ramping up capacity.
Across SA, there was the usual increase in spring sales, including off-shears and feature ewe sales, while the annual Yelta, Vic, sheep sale returned for the second consecutive year after several year's absence.
