Mount Pleasant's annual off-shears sale has delivered a plethora of top breeding ewes and buyers responded, by helping the sale to a $204 top price.

About 6300 ewes and lambs were yarded, with well-bred lines of young ewes dominating the catalogue.
Brown Farming Enterprises made the top price after its 68 Paxton-bld Border Leicester cross Merino ewes made $204 to Nutrien Ag Mount Pleasant.
Returns remained consistent for top breeding ewes thereafter, with NF, EA&RM Loffler making $180 for its larger line of 117, Inverbrackie and Glenville-blds. The July/August 2022-drops were October-shorn and sold to Elders Strathalbyn.
D,M&C Schultz, Cambrai, had multiple larger lines of young ewes in this year's sale, with 82, August/September 2022-drop Belmont and Hilton Heath-blds making $186 to Fleurieu Estates.
The same vendor offered 92, April 2022-drop Belmont and Hilton Heath-blds which made $174. The run of September-shorns sold to TDC Keith.
LA Wilkey made $168 for 42 Seymour Vale and North Cowie-bld September-shorns which went to Fleurieu Estates.
Thereafter, most of the top-end ewes made $58-$100 and young crossbred ewe seconds and later drops, made between $40-$90.
In the 2023-drop ewes, the blue ribbon pen of April-2023-drops offered by D,M&C Schultz made $120 for 97, Belmont and Hilton Heath-blds. The run of October-shorns went to TDC Keith.
But, CS&AM Simpson made the $154 top price for the section with its 82, Inverbrackie, Koonawarra and Lines Gum Hill-blds which went the same way. Their run of 43 seconds made $120 to Nutrien Ag Strath.
Remaining 2023-drops in lighter condition fell away and made between $5-$38, while some larger lines of 2020-21-drop ewes made between $25-$50.
The top pen in the 2020-2021-drop section was a large run of 215 Australian Whites from IT&LM Pitt which sold to TFI at $50.
IJ&FL Koch made the top price for 2019-drop ewes. Their run of 34, August-shorn Bunyara-blds made $42 to Nutrien Mount Pleasant.
In the 2018-19-drops, Koonunga Family Trust made $25 for 58, 2018-19-drop Mernowie-bld October-shorns which went to Thomas Foods International.
RD Thiele, Monarto, also made $25 for its 68, Merino ewes to TFI.
Wethers reached a top of $51, for 56 of G&JR Koopman's Lucernbrae-blds. The September-shorns went to Spence Dix & Co, Mallala.
A run of 83 wethers made $47 for Bunyara and Mulloorie-blds from AMP Farms Trust, Tungkillo, The October-shorns went to strong operator Elders Murray Bridge.
Sunnyvale Props made $46 for a larger run of 151 October-shorn Dohne/Merino Babirra-blds which went the same way.
Wethers struggling in condition made between $18-$22.
