A wish was fulfilled for this purebred export class steer, claiming the overall grand champion led steer title in the judging of the Royal Adelaide Show feature.
Glental I Wish I Win claimed the win, after previously winning champion purebred export steer and then champion purebred steer.
Glental Partnership's Lewis Bruggemann, Mallala, said while they had some success in the competition before, it was "absolutely" just as good each time, with this especially good in the year the led steers were feature breed.
"We all want to win but it's very hard to get on and do it," he said.
Mr Bruggemann said the 638 kilogram Limousin steer, which has measurements of 118 square centimetres for eye muscle area and fat scores of 10 millimetres for both P8 and rib, was their pick of the steers from an early stage, even coming from a surprising source.
"We tour the country looking for steers that suit the competition and he came from my uncle, who runs five cows, and ended up being champion," he said.
Judge Tim Bayliss, Ray White Rural Bellingen and Dorrigo, NSW, director, said the steer hit the exact specifications he was looking for.
He said the animal was nice and soft while being structurally sound and having a very large eye muscle.
"It is a steer that really deserves the (grand champion) title," he said.
The champion crossbred steer on hoof went to Raven Limousin Tuxedo, exhibited by Meningie High School, and bred by Jason and Penny Schulz, Field.
The Limousin-Angus cross weighed 544kg with a 113EM and 10mm P8 and 9mm rib.
Mr Bayliss said the exhibit was a "lovely steer" that came through a "tough class" before being sashed as champion crossbred export on hoof.
"It's tremendous for a school to exhibit a steer of that strength," he said.
"I love the hip to pin, and I think it will hang up extremely well - that's why he's my champion."
Among the other winners in the purebred section was Limousin Lakota Timewaster T3, shown by Lakota Livestock, Stockport, which was sashed champion purebred light domestic on hoof, weighing 431kg, with 97EMA, and 9mm and 7mm for P8 and rib fat respectively.
Reserve went to St Paul T483, Glental Simmentals, with it measuring 437kg, 100EMA and 9mm for P8 and rib.
Champion purebred heavy domestic on hoof was Spence's Oscar the Great T9, from Spence's Show Steers, Keith. The 458kg Limousin had 113EMA, and 9mm for P8 and rib.
In reserve was Limousin Knockanddo Tookie T15, shown by Unity College, Murray Bridge, which was 499kg, 112EMA and 10mm and 8mm for P8 and rib.
Reserve in the purebred export section was Charolais Caithness Bobby T55, Unity College, at 600kg, 124EMA, 12mm P8 and 10mm rib.
Jillangolo Thunderstruck, a Red Angus-Simmental cross, from L&M Llewellyn & Co, Keith, was champion crossbred light domestic on hoof, weighing 410kg with a 90EMA, 10mm P8 and 9mm rib.
Reserve went to Redwood Range Capellini, Balaklava High School, with the 406kg Speckle Park-Angus cross measuring 7mm for P8 and rib and 79EMA.
Champion crossbred heavy domestic on hoof was an Angus-Charolais cross Nickolls Brothers Teddy T250, weighing 482kg, 92EMA, 9mm rib and P8, from Heath Nickolls, Pinnaroo.
Reserve was LA Train Wreck, from LA Livestock, Keith, measuring 540kg for the Simmental-Angus, and 104EMA, and 10mm rib and P8.
The reserve crossbred export on hoof winner was Woonallee Thundermuffin, a SimAngus from Tom and Lizzy Baker, Furner, which weighed 626kg, with 17mm P8 and 15mm rib fat.
Mr Bayliss praised the exhibits, saying it was the strongest school's competition he had judged throughout Australia.
