Over 800 head of cattle was offered at the Strathalbyn market between the selling agents which was acknowledged by Elders Strathalbyn livestock agent Brett Peters as a great yarding for the time of the year.
Nutrien Bordertown livestock agent Jack Guy said the quality of yarding was very good with well bred cattle in the sale.
"It's a tough time in the market at the moment, to be honest, it is a very volatile market, no one knows where it is going to end up," he said.
"The cattle were from various regions from Keith to Strathalbyn and local districts around the Fleurieu.
"Buyers were from across the state with most major feed lotters present."
Mr Peters said the sale was in line with expectations with some well bred cattle on offer.
"We were probably in front of where other sales have been in the country especially on those lighter steers," he said.
"We were pretty happy in general with the prices - as we know, it's pretty tough at the moment.
"But I think you'll find Strathalbyn sale once again probably held his own despite being back on last months sale - it is in line with everyone else in the country."
