We've seen full clearances, new records and huge jumps in year-on-year sale averages.
With that all being said, it was no easy task for Stock Journal's Catherine Miller to come up with her top 10 sales of the year.
But, she's done just that. Check them all out below.
Collinsville Merino and Poll Merino sale, Hallett
George and Sophie Millington, Hallett and their team created a tremendous spectacle with both their East Bungaree and Collinsville stud sales held on the same day for the first time.
To cap it off, a new Collinsville Merina record was set on the day.
Glenlea Park Poll Merinos, Keith
History was made at Glenlea Park Poll Merino stud's 46th annual sale.
It was held for the first time at their South East property near Keith in a brand new ram sale complex.
The stud's biggest sale crowd ever - with around 80 registered bidders - witnessed a new state record average for on-property Merino sales.
Moorundie Poll Merinos, Keith
Moorundie Poll Merino stud didn't crack their sale high from the year before at their 2022 annual ram sale at Keith but they did equal the lofty price from 2021.
Also for the second consecutive year, it was Wes, Jacqui, John and Marg Daniell, White River stud, Minnipa and Poochera, who staved off strong competition to buy the sale topper offered by Moorundie stud principals Geoff and Bernadette Davidson.
Kiandra Poll Merinos, Bordertown
Kiandra Poll Merino stud made a couple big jumps in 2022.
The Bordertown-based stud not only registered a big leap in sale average but they did this while adding another 30 rams to their sale catalogue ad their 27th annual sale.
Leahcim Poll Merino stud, Snowtown
Leahcim stud's Poll Merino ram auction at Snowtown was one to remember.
The stud achieved a full clearance - with 300 rams offered - but that wasn't the only achievement with a big top price recorded.
White River Merino and Poll Merinos, Poochera and Minnipa
An on-property stud record was achieved at White River Merino and Poll Merino stud's annual ram sale at Poochera.
The magnificent record breaker had attracted plenty of interest at the Hay Sheep Show in June, the Australian Sheep & Wool Show in Bendigo, Vic, and the EP Merino Breeders Expo at Wudinna where the ram stood second to another of the Daniell family's rams being retained by the stud.
Superior Wool Merinos, Tintinara
Buyers were looking for stylish, ultra white wools on non-mulesed sheep at SWM's 15th annual Merino ram sale at Tintinara and bid up accordingly.
Despite offering an extra 20 rams, stud principal Richard Harkness enjoyed another healthy lift in sale average of $181 on 2021's result.
Glenville Merino and Poll Merinos, Cowell
Both stud and commercial buyers competed strongly in an outstanding sale for Glenville Merino and Poll Merino stud near Cowell.
It was the Smith family's 61st on-property auction and despite some reservations as to what impact some previous clients' move away from Merinos would mean, a main sale full clearance and strong average was an "unexpected surprise" for the Smith family.
Ridgway Advance Poll Merinos, Bordertown
After the previous two years of closed borders, Ridway Advance's commercial clients from across the country took advantage of being able to attend this year's sale and they bidded with confidence.
Old Ashrose, Hallett
Old Ashrose completed a big period at its sale in 2022.
The stud followed up a rare fleece feat at the Royal Adelaide Show, with a fantastic result at its on-property sale at Hallett.
Fresh from winning grand champion and reserve grand champion in both ram and ewe fleeces at the Royal, the Wadlow family enjoyed full clearances on 147 Poll Merino and Merino rams, and 80 White Suffolks.
