The speed shear competition made a return for the first time in six years with nearly 100 shearers vying for around $5000 in cash and prizes.
Jevon Taiki was the winner of the open section shearing a composite lamb in just 20 seconds, with just 1.9 seconds separating the top six entrants.
The Rural Ambassador winner was Elders Naracoorte sales support officer Carly Gogel, while the Young Rural Ambassador in the 16-19 years age bracket was Ryan O'Shaughnessy.
The theme of the 2022 show was 'On the Sheep's Back' so it was fitting that the wool section also made a return after a long absence and many of the competitive sections had special sheep classes.

One of the final events on the program was the show's inaugural Young Farmers Challenge which was a great success.
Each of the seven teams had to complete a series of challenges, including putting up a portable sheep yard pen, assembling an irrigation sprinkler, eating a dry weetbix and drinking a cup of Farmers Union iced coffee.
The team from AJ&PA McBride Pty Ltd used their practical skills and teamwork to come away as the winners.
