ANNA Villa celebrated its 60th on-property sale at Weetulta on Friday and reached a solid top price of $3500 for a ram which almost stayed in the Ferguson's flock instead of being sold.
The Ferguson family offered 122 White Suffolk sale rams and sold 95, averaging $1043.
The $3500 top price ram was selected by Jamestown's Two Wynn stud principal Phil Hagger.
The ram weighed 136.5 kilograms and was sired by GP 356.
Its Australian Sheep Breeding Values were 12.3 weaning weight, 18.4 post-weaning weight and -0.8 fat with 1.3 eye muscle depth.
It also recorded 142.25 on the Terminal Carcase Production Index.
The ram will enter Two Wynn stud and join with selected ewes in the coming months.
The $3250 second-highest priced ram was snapped up by River Park Farming through Nutrien Hill Livestock Crystal Brook.
This ram was sired by W 6861 and weighed 134.5kg.
Its ASBV's were 10.9WWT, 16.3PWWT, -0.2 fat and 1.8EMD, with 148.93 TCP.
The buyer also secured a second ram for $3000.
The sale attracted large orders from some of the pastoral areas, with RW Nutt & Sons through Elders Port Augusta securing a large draft of 23 rams all at $800.
GP McDonald & Sons through Nutrien Hill Livestock took home nine rams, all at $800.
The sale was conducted by Nutrien Ag Solutions Kadina with stud stock's Gordon Wood and Elders livestock sales manager Damian Webb took the bids in the barn.
