Aimee Bolton has picked up a few ribbons at the Royal Adelaide Show throughout the years, but this time she was the one deciding the placings.
Aimee, who grew up operating Bolton Girl's Red Angus with her sister Olivia, took her turn in the judge's role, adjudicating Angus, Red Angus and Simmental breeds.
While she is no newbie as a judge - she has been competing in junior judging since the age of five and judging solo since 17, including at the Royal Melbourne Show and the Ekka in Qld earlier this year - this was her first time judging the interbreed competition.
She was joined by judges Alastair Day, Allendale, Bordertown; Annika Whale, Cowra, NSW; and Jake Phillips, Phillips Cattle Company, Naracoorte; and said there were some "exceptional" cattle on display.
"The quality was extremely high this year, which is a testament to the season eastern Australia has been having," she said.
She said it was great to get the chance to judge at Adelaide, after the two-year hiatus, with her being invited to judge for the past three years.
She also had the chance to pass on some of her knowledge to the next generation, acting as judge in the state junior beef cattle handlers competition.
