A REGULAR top end buyer returned to Eagle Ridge Dohne's on-property sale at Cowell on Monday last week, again paying the highest price.
During the Helmsmann auction, 37 of 40 rams sold for an average $1267.
Everglen Ag, Lock, which has been selecting from the top end of the catalogue for a number of years, again paid the $3500 top price for a 92 kilogram ram with a micron of 18 and postweaning weight of 5, post-weaning eye muscle depth of 0.4 and yearling clean fleece weight of 26.8.
The Hodges, Everglen Ag, look for a long-stapled fleece for six-monthly shearing, and bought 10 rams all up.
The second top price was $3000, paid by PNH Nominees, Wirrula, for a ram with 17.6M, 5PWWT, 0.8PEMD and 14.7YCFW.
Another volume buyer was Jogilma, Cowell, which bought 10 rams to $2000.
Eagle Ridge principal Paul Webb said he was pleased with the result with a solid clearance.
"With the Helmsmann auction, people get time to buy the rams they want for their flock," he said.

He said it was a good chance for buyers to pick up some quality sheep for bargain prices, with strong support from repeat clients.
