Repeat buyers were in action for the 21st Galaxy Park White Suffolk and Prime SAMM on-property sale at Tintinara on Friday.
In one of the earliest terminal ram sales for the year, Galaxy Park offered 89 White Suffolk rams with nearly half of the offering being July 2021-drops, with 60 sold to average $982.
The top price of $1600 was achieved three times and were all sons of Galaxy Park 170355.
Another 355-sired Galaxy Park son 190418 sold at the Adelaide Elite ram sale for $12,000.
The figures of 355 progeny were consistent throughout the catalogue.
The first was Lot 24, tag 97, which had Australian Sheep Breeding Values of 20.56 for post-weaning weight and 158.12 on the terminal carcase production index, and was bought by by repeat buyer Jamie Robertson, Fingerpost Family Trust, operating with Scott Christie, Elders Lucindale.
Fingerpost secured eight rams to average $1062.
Fingerpost have been buying Galaxy Park rams for many years and using them with Multi Meat-Merino cross ewes with success and lambing percentages of about 150 per cent.
They lamb in June and sell lambs in November at 23-24 kilograms, dressed weight, targeting the supermarket trade.
The other two rams at the $1600 equal top price were Lots 35 and 36.
Tag 171 had figures of 19.27PWWT and a TCP of 155.54, while tag 277 had 19.42PWWT and TCP of 154.32.
These two rams were secured by Mt Boothby Pastoral livestock overseer Johan Engelbrecht.
Mt Boothby bought seven rams to average $1171.
Mr Engelbrecht was using ASBV's focusing on low birth weight, high post weaning weight and large eye muscle depth.
The rams will be joined with older Merino ewes.
Repeat buyer AM,BL,DA&WW Beggs, Kingston SE, who bought last year's top price rams and regularly buys at the top end, secured seven rams to average $1229.
In the Prime Samm offering, 23 of 30 sold to average $1287.
The top price ram at $2600 was Lot 105, tag 315, selling to new client Andrew Wall, Wall & Neindorf Pastoral, Lightning Ridge, NSW.
Tag 315 had wool figures of 17.2 micron, 2.8 standard deviation and 99.6 per cent comfort factor.

Nutrien auctioneer Richard Miller said the White Suffolks presented very well for a sale very early in the selling season.
"Rams had very good Lambplan data and predominately repeat buyers were able to secure their picks at good value," he said.
"The Prime SAMM's would be Galaxy Park's best sale result on a very even line up of rams displaying very good wool and meat traits.
"There were two to three new volume buyers."
