A WINTER lull had cattle numbers and prices slide slightly at the Mount Pleasant market on Thursday last week.
Lamb prices were also back a touch, with the first of new-season sucker lambs making their way through the yards.
Topping the lamb market were 10 from R Sweetman, Red Creek, which made $188, while seven sucker lambs from RK Doecke, Tintinara, also made $188.
MJ Dunn, Brinkley, received $182 for six lambs, while making $170 were 14 lambs from AE Tucker, Birdwood, and at $168 were seven from Wirrealpa & Partners, Blinman.
In the cattle ring, PA&FT Frahn, Mannum, sold an Angas heifer to $2040 and a Murray Grey heifer for $1760, and three black baldies for $1320.
The same vendor led the way on the cows, with a solitary Murray Grey making $1940.
RJ&KF Zadow, Tailem Bend, received $1400 for three Murray Grey heifers, while P Pangallo, Kersbrook, sold three Red Angus for $1300 and a further four of the same breed for $1220.
A Murray Grey steer from S Taylor, Williamstown, topped that section, making $2000, with a Murray Grey from Bill Gilkes, Mannum, reaching $1780 and an Angus cross from K&C James, Mount Pleasant, making $1740.
The next Mount Pleasant market is scheduled for August 25.
