The first of the three bulls to reach the $16,000 top price was Lot 2 Lakeside Riko R024 - an end of March 2020-drop son of Kerrah Defender D620, weighing 886 kilogram with an eye muscle area of 126 square centimetres, selling via Auctionsplus to Olinda Grazing, Baralaba, Qld.

The sale's volume bull buyer was Loid and Zabby Appleton, Appleton Cattle Company, a family operated business at Charters Towers, Qld, which has bought Lakeside genetics for five years.
Appleton Cattle Company secured 11 bulls to a top of $15,000 to average $7909.
Fifteen bulls went to three different buyers in Qld on Auctionsplus.
The bulls were aged from 17-22 months and weighed up to 927kg, presenting in ideal working condition.
Repeat buyers Rosebank Pastoral, Casterton, Vic, LS Johnson & Sons, Naracoorte, and Artimore & Partners, Tintinara, bought two bulls each.
Elders auctioneer Laryn Gogel said it was a solid line up.
"The bulls sold well however the clearance does not reflect the offering of fleshy quiet natured bulls," he said.
"Auctionsplus was very strong and we thank them for the support.
"Online is unpredictable for how strong and where the competition will come from."
