From Friday, Woolworths will again receive beef processed at Teys' Naracoorte abattoir after a temporary suspension was lifted.
Teys Naracoorte was the site of a major outbreak with more than 140 workers testing positive to COVID-19 but it has continued processing, except last Friday.
Early last week Teys management instructed those who were not unwell to come to work, even those who were COVID positive.
At the time SA Health confirmed that to ensure food security it had granted special approval for a "small group of critical staff who had tested positive but were asymptomatic to continue to work in an isolated area away from others".
This raised safety concerns among some fellow workers and even the Australian Council of Trade Unions.
But on Tuesday afternoon a Woolworths spokeswoman said the suspension had been lifted.
"After consultation with Teys, SA Health and Safework SA, we are satisfied that the COVID management protocols in place at the Naracoorte site meet the relevant health requirements," they said.
"Teys' team members play an important role in helping deliver Australian beef to households across the country and we thank them for their contribution.
"We continue to work with all our meat supply partners to prioritise COVID safety and provide quality Australian meat to our customers."
Teys and SA Health confirmed there would be no COVID positive cases working at the site within seven days of them testing positive.
All Teys Naracoorte staff are fully vaccinated and rapid antigen tests are available for all employees.
Teys Australia chief executive officer Andrew MacPherson said at all times the health and safety of its people was its primary focus.
"We have worked closely with our team through this period and provided them additional support as required, including access to telehealth consultations," he said.
"We remain very proud of our team at Naracoorte and at all our other operations across Australia, all of whom are working to keep quality food on the table for Australians during a difficult time."
