WET WEATHER and wild winds are expected across wide parts of SA during the next few days, with clouds already forming in the west of the state near the WA border.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Jenny Horvat said rain events are expected from tomorrow, persisting into the weekend, across may areas.
"Generally, if I drew a line from say Oodnadatta to Renmark, anywhere south-west of there (should see rain)," she said.
But she said there were also signs of thunderstorms forming in the far north-east of the station, also from tomorrow, and continuing in the Far North on Friday.
Ms Horvat said rain totals would vary from 2 millimetres to 10mm in the west, 5-20mm in the northern agricultural areas, 20-40mm in the southern agricultural areas, and as high as 30-60mm in the Adelaide Hills and parts of the South East.
Falls from the thunderstorm activity in the pastoral regions could reach 10-20mm.
Ms Horvat said these heavy rains had the chance to cause localised flooding across roads in some areas of SA.
She said this rain was being caused by a low pressure system developing south of the Bite, with it expected to weaken by Saturday.
Alongside the rain, is heavy winds, getting up to "gale force" in some parts of SA on Friday.
Ms Horvat said this amount of rain in February was unusual to see in SA.
