LAST week's snap shutdown of SA - due to concerns about the growing "Parafield cluster" of COVID-19 cases - came suddenly, throwing many industries into disarray.
It came as sheep were on their way to Naracoorte and Mount Pleasant for two major sales, while shearing and harvest were underway in many regions.
While was included in the exemptions, there was still uncertainty about how it could continue in lockdown - with initial messaging just allowing primary production as an essential service "only to ensure adequate supply of food and care of crops and animals".
