That simple sentence is very powerful and very true.
According to a recent study, we all have about 6000 thoughts a day. That is a lot, so it pays not to have too many negative ones.
A negative thought here or there may be natural, but negativity can easily build momentum if you don't keep track of it.
Negativity can have a big impact on your life. Some people constantly put themselves down. It may be done in jest, and that is fine. But, be aware of this and make sure none of this mud sticks.
In addition to affecting your opinion of yourself, it can also affect your productivity. If you feel intimidated by a task, you may be more likely to procrastinate.
We only have one shot at life, and it makes sense to give it your best.
But, procrastination often leads to feeling overwhelmed by the task, as the amount of time you have to complete it reduces.
Sometimes this pattern can be hard to break. The harsh reality is that the individual is the only one that can break the cycle, and the sooner incremental or large change happens, the better.
But, there is light at the end of the tunnel. A change in environment is sometimes all that is needed. This may be as simple as going for a walk, or doing something else that you find relaxing.
Hanging out with positive people is always a good way to see things differently.
It is a bit hard to ditch negative people, particularly if they are family members, but we can all choose what we take on board and what we let go over our heads. Choose wisely!
You can also find a plethora of books or podcasts that can aid in positive thinking. Meditation is another way to calm the mind down and focus more clearly.

There is also professional help available if required. A good GP is a great starting point, as they can refer you to appropriate professionals. There are also online tools available.
Another obvious option is to look after yourself physically. This can be through proper exercise and nutrition. You don't have be hardcore about this, but you do need to be aware of what you are putting in your mouth, as well as what you are letting into your mind.
Self-love is another area that is often neglected. This doesn't mean you have an out-of-control ego, it just means that you need to like the person you are. This is the starting point of achieving what you want in life, and helping others.
We only have one shot at life, and it makes sense to give it your best.
Life in the country can be isolating, and there is plenty of time and space for thoughts to manifest themselves in your head.
It is much more fun to wake up each morning with a positive outlook. It may take some work to change your mindset. There is help available, but, ultimately, it's up to you. The best time to start is right now.
