WHILE many rural events have been cancelled due to COVID-19 uncertainty and restrictions, Stock Journal's 2021 Beef Week is not one of them.
The event - to be held from Friday, February 5 to Tuesday, February 9 next year - is expected to proceed in its traditional format.
But, participating studs that throw open their gates to display their herds will be required to comply with any state government directives, including having a COVID Safe Plan.
Day 1 on February 5 will cover the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula with Day 2, Sunday February 7 the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Loxton and the two remaining days February 8 and 9 in the
Stock Journal's livestock advertising manager Mark Scown said the company was excited to again host Beef Week and provide a great opportunity for potential buyers to purchase bulls and females.
"With bulls selling to record highs currently in the eastern states and the cattle market also setting records driven by grass fever, along with the forecast for plenty of rain during the coming months, it could create the perfect storm for SA bull sales," he said.
"We are currently seeing good rains in pastoral areas enabling graziers to buy rams and rebuild their flocks the same should be able to happen for the cattle stations after a run of very dry years."
