LIVESTOCK SA has one of its largest field of board nominations since its formation, with nine individuals seeking to fill five vacancies.
Livestock SA president Joe Keynes, Keyneton, is standing for re-election, along with fellow board members Bill Nosworthy, Sheringa, and Richard Reedy, Murray Bridge.
The new faces contesting the election for a two-year term on the producer advocacy board are AJ&PA McBride board member Jim McBride, One Tree Hill veterinarian Alan Irving, Parndana producer Marina Gregor, former Family First MLC and Mount Compass farmer Rob Brokenshire, Springton livestock consultant Gabbrielle Brooke and Richard Kirkland, Furner.
Current vice-president Penny Schulz, Field - the only original board member - along with Jamie Heinrich, who has just started a second term as a director of Sheep Producers Australia, are not seeking re-election.
Livestock SA chief executive officer Andrew Curtis was pleased by the calibre and diversity of the nominations showing their interest in wanting to represent SA's livestock industry.
Online voting for members will open soon or members can fill out a ballot form. The successful candidates will be announced at Livestock SA's annual general meeting on September 14.
