The sentence immediately below this one goes a long way to summing up Australia's experience over the past few days.
A Victorian teenager who was on holiday on the NSW South Coast has been diagnosed with COVID-19, after a testing error.
And there, we have it. How highly a contagious infection is unwittingly spread.
The teen was told the COVID test he had was negative so went on a family holiday. The next day they went to the pub. The following day they were in quarantine.
The elephant in the room is, of course, the term "testing error", but ... it's too late to put the toothpaste back in that tube - especially for the family; for the 80 people at the now-closed pub; and the multitude of others the family met in a couple of days.
And it would come as no surprise that the first day of the NSW-Victorian border lockdown did not quite go to plan.
One peak business body has called for the immediate cancellation of the border closure; confusion has reigned for businesses; fines have been doled out; websites have crashed and that's just day one. The tension - and chaos - is palpable.
A Victorian man also was arrested after allegedly attempting to cross the border without a permit at Corowa today.
It also wasn't helped by news of NSW Health authorities failing to conduct health screenings for a Melbourne-to-Sydney flight last night, before the border closures came into effect. Seems they were busy checking another plane.
Then there's the small matter of Victoria being locked out of Australia. First NSW and South Australia, now the Northern Territory and Tasmania, too.
There might be a big moat around Tassie but the state's peak construction union says its tradies are putting their lives at risk through working on sites with Victorian workers. Read about their concerns here.
The Prime Minister, who was announcing more support for aged care, urged us not to become complacent about coronavirus, and wanted Aussies to support the push to limit the Victorian outbreak.
"It's happening in Melbourne now. Of course, there is always the risk it could happen in other cities," he said. "But we are all Melburnians now when it comes to the challenge we face.
"We are all Victorians now. Because we are all Australians and that is where the challenges are right now."
