Works from a $350,000 funding injection to Cummins Mill have been completed, with the company set to celebrate the milestone by open its doors to customers, business partners and the general public next Friday 13 March.
The Cummins Mill upgrade has been as a result of a partnership with PIRSA through the Regional Development Fund, which provided the mill with $340,000 back in 2017.
Using the funding, the mill has able purchase and commission several large capital items including a grain mixer, four 50-tonne silos, a grain analyser, an automatic bagging machine, and a mineral lick and feedlot supplement mixer.
A flour warehouse shed, has also been constructed, a solar system installed, and a new sales administration building.
Cummins Mill owner Bill Butterfield said he was "very happy" with the improvements.
"It helped us give the mill a face lift that it totally deserved after 90 years of operation, and it's brought us up to the standards of being able to run a business of this stature," he said.
