TWO SA companies were among the champions at the 2020 Australian Grand Dairy Awards, held in Melbourne, Vic, on Friday night.
Beston Pure Foods, Murray Bridge, received the People's Choice Champion for their Edward's Crossing Vintage Cheddar Black Wax and also won the Hard Cheese category for their Edward's Crossing Parmesan.
Taking out the Semi Hard/Eye Cheese award was Section28 Artisan Cheese, Woodside, for their Section28 Fontina.
This year's Grand Champions - the highest scoring dairy and cheese products - both went to Vic producers, with Berry's Creek claiming the Cheese crown for their Oak Blue, and Fonterra the top dairy product accolade for their Western Star Salted Butter.
Vic producers claimed the highest number of Champion titles, taking out seven of the nineteen categories, while WA followed with four, NSW with three, SA and Qld with two, and Tas with one.
Celebrating its 21st year, the Australian Grand Dairy Awards are the premier dairy awards within the Australian dairy industry.
Organised by Dairy Australia, these awards recognise the best of the best, with each of the 400 products entered this year already gold awards winners in state level competitions.
The world class quality and excellence of Australia's top cheeses, ice creams, milks, butter, gelato and more were judged by a panel of 12 top dairy judges.
