THERE was plenty of traffic in the Lower South East as 20 studs opened their gates for inspection on day three of Stock Journals 2019 Beef Week.
The studs south of Padthaway displayed Red Angus, Shorthorns, Angus, Murray Greys, Charolais, Santa Gertrudis, Simmentals and Limousins, on what was a good day to look at cattle, according to one breeder.
Despite the tough season, many stud principals reported good inquiry as they opened their farmgates to show their selected genetics to potential clients.
Some studs achieved sales on the day, while others use it as a chance to showcase breeding stock, progeny or preview bull and female offerings ahead of upcoming on-property sales.
