An established vineyard located amongst iconic and internationally recognisable wine brands, vineyard holdings, cellar doors, accommodation and visitor centres, is for sale in the Barossa Valley of South Australia.
Its extraordinary location in Rowland Flat, is in an area inextricably linked to winemaking since the inception of vineyards in the region.
The vineyard is being offered to the market by way of expression of interest through Elders Platinum Rural Portfolio with a closing date for the campaign of February 7, 2020, unless sold earlier.
The holding consists of approximately 15 hectares under vine, the majority of which is Shiraz.
It also includes some Semillon, which was planted in the early 1900s and a small planting of Grenache.
When required, the vines take supplementary water from a seven megalitre allocation through the Barossa Infrastructure scheme, which is also being offered with the property.
A dwelling and other structures exist on the holding adjacent the Barossa Valley Way, which may pave the way for enhanced structures relating to winemaking subject to the necessary consents.
The vendor is a fourth generation family of the region, well known in the valley and with fruit from their vines being used in a variety of premium offerings in recent years.
Their family name has been used in the marketing of certain wines during the last decade.
Their focus is now to run a large aggregation in the south-east of South Australia, comprising broad acre cropping and other agricultural operations.
Elders Rural property executive, Adam Chilcott has been appointed to oversee the expression of interest process.
"The Barossa Valley is seeing substantial interest given the long-term fundamental drivers and continued growth in the premium tier of the market," he said.
"There is also a desire for market participants to secure fruit supply.
"The location of this holding is a key feature of the property. We would expect widespread interest from local, interstate and international buyers."
