GOOD weather and new buyers helped Paramount White Suffolk stud to increase its ram sale average at Kersbrook last week.
Robert and Pat MacDonald sold 38 rams from 44 offered to $1500, averaging $1010.53.
Last year, they sold 37 of 50 White Suffolks also to $1500, averaging $831.
The $1500 top price ram went to repeat buyers, Starkey Farms of Cambrai, who also bought rams at $1200 and $1100.
Other buyers were GM&MJ Glynn, Kingscote, with five rams averaging $1200; return buyer JA Mundy, Forreston, also purchased five averaging $1100; while Para Ranges bought four rams averaging $900.
Mr McDonald said it was always good to see return buyers, but most rewarding to have new interest, while Mrs MacDonald was pleased to hear comments about the advanced growth quality of the rams and felt it was a very successful sale.
