Sucker lambs to $241
Mutton to $165
THE yarding of 7483 lambs and 3054 mutton at Ouyen, Vic, on Thursday last week attracted good buying competition.
Sucker lamb prices were firm to between $5 and $10 dearer.
P&B O'Brien, Speed, Vic, topped the sucker lamb section with 139 at $241, just ahead of G Vine, Ouyen, with 56 at $240.
W Schultz, Mittyack, Vic, sold 44 crossbred sucker lambs at $238, BA&T Jolly, Speed, had 22 make $236 and Hulland Holdings, Patchewollock, Vic, sold 102 at $233.

Also receiving at least $230 for their crossbred sucker lambs were T&S Monaghan, Tempy, Vic, with 122 at $232.60, ND&FJ Hamilton, Ouyen, with 45 at $232, H&P Ferguson, Walpeup, Vic, with 59 at $230 and G&P Burns, Tempy, with 55 at $230.
Lyndon Park Pastoral, Boinka, Vic, sold 56 crossbred suckers at $228, Erchardt Partners, Galah, Vic, sold 51 at $226 and Downdale Pastoral, Speed, had 32 make $226.
Two vendors received $233 for their sucker lambs - Hannig/Ferguson, Walpeup, for 73 and F Stone, Torrita, Vic, for 30.
H&M Crothers, Underbool, sold 49 at $222, NM Vallance, Ouyen, had 57 make $220, RV&J Morrish, Walpeup, sold 53 at $220, and D Dutschke, Karoonda, sold 84 at $220.
Selling Dorper sucker lambs were MGN Gibbons, Galah, with 61 at $196.

H&P Ferguson also offered a standout pen of 42 older crossbred lambs, which attracted the market's overall top price of $245.
Export crossbred lambs ranged between $7.40 a kilogram and $8.40/kg, while trades made $7.80/kg and $8.60. Store or light crossbreds made $9-$10/kg.
Light mutton made $5.10-$5.70/kg, while heavier mutton sold for $4.80-$5.20/kg.
Vendors selling mutton included H&M Crothers with 150 at $165, MUT, Tempy, with 29 at $160, P&K Willersdorf, Murrayville, Vic, receiving $150 for 92, M&N Lynch, Kiamal, with 66 at $150 and D&L Hyde, Pinnaroo, with 130 at $150.
