Brinkworth's Paul and Airlie Meyer have asserted themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Royal Adelaide Show grains and fodder competition, with the pair named most successful exhibitor for the third consecutive year.

The Meyers, who crop about 800ha of wheat, barley, oats, beans and vetch, took out top honours in the low rainfall hard wheat class for a Mace sample with a protein content of 17.1 per cent, scoring full marks in most of the marking criteria categories to receive an overall score of 96.3 points out of a possible 100.
A further seven placings across five classes in wheat, barley and oats categories led the Meyers to the most-successful crown.
Having entered samples in the competition for about a decade, the Meyers were pleased with the continued success, and intended to submit entries in the future.
"If we're reaping a paddock and have some good protein and low screenings, we grab a sample of that (to enter into the competition)," Mr Meyer said.
The most successful new exhibitor award was won by Ben and Jaymee Francis, Loudounbrae Farming, Maitland.
The pair were awarded first place in the lentil competition, for a Jumbo 2 sample with a 22.6pc protein content, which scored 89 points.

They also received a second and third place in the malting barley class and a second place in a canola class.
The grand champion wheat award was won by K&R Lienert, Shea-Oak Log, for a Scepter sample that scored 98 points.
Judged by SARDI's Chris Stone along with Australian Grain Technology's Stuart Milde and former SARDI researcher Rob Wheeler, the Lienerts' sample was praised for its test weight and plumpness, and was of high milling yield with good protein.
Almost all wheat entries were Scepter, which the judges said reflected the popularity of the variety.
The feature grain at the show this year was barley, which was judged by AGT's Paul Telfer, SARDI's Kenton Porker and Viterra's Trevor May.
Mark Prior, Hamilton, took out the champion malting barley award with a Compass sample that was praised for a "perfect protein range", and plump grains recording a retention above 90pc and small screenings below 1pc.
The champion feed barley award was won by Barrie Gale, Monarto South, who entered a sample with "extremely high protein", according to the judges.
Next year's feature category at the Royal Adelaide Show is fodder.
