LARGE parts of southern SA have been issued with a weather warning with a cold front expected to move across the state.

A sheep graziers warning has also been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology for the Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Mid North, Upper South East and Lower South East.

Cold conditions, showers and strong and squally west to northwesterly winds are expected, which could risk losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

Those in the Murraylands are also being warned to be cautious of strong winds.

SA Police has urged all motorists to drive to the conditions, ensure they slow down, be alert and pay attention at all times.

It is advocating measures such as driving with headlights on in times of poor visability, ensuring the windscreen is clean and wiper blades are in good condition, leave space between vehicles and the one ahead and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy with tyres in good condition and correctly inflated.

The State Emergency Service advises people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees, secure or put away loose items around your property and stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
