RESULTS from the recently released 2017-18 National Residue Survey have shown excellent grower compliance against national chemical residue standards, with a better performance than last year.
The survey, conducted by a unit within the Federal Department of Agriculture, is designed to track whether deliveries meet mandated standards for chemical residue in export grain.
This year, 99.8 per cent of grain in the bulk export program and 99pc of the container program monitored by the survey fell within specified limits.
However, there was a slightly lower compliance figure for domestic grain monitored in the survey, with 97.4pc compliance.
Overall, compliance rates sat at 99.2pc.
Bulk export compliance was the same as last year, while there were improvements in containers and domestic trade.
Products tested within the survey include herbicides, fungicides and insecticides, which are all cross-reference against the relevant maximum residue limit (MRL).
