CONSULTANT Hamish Dickson, AgriPartner Consulting, Clare, was awarded the Jim McColl Ag Institute Australia Young Consultant Award at the University of Adelaide's Waite campus last night.
Dr Jim McColl, who passed away in 2013, was one of the early pioneers of the private farm consulting movement.
The Ag Institute Australia’s SA division started up the award as a way to recognise Mr McColl’s contribution to Australian agriculture, as it celebrates the achievements of young consultants – an area Mr McColl was passionate about.
Mr Dickson has led national research and its on-farm application in a range of areas including copper deficiency, native pastures and data driving management.
As well as being the principal consultant of AgriPartner Consulting, which he established, Mr Dickson is also co-founder of Crown Agriculture, an independent livestock technology and contract research company developing novel feeding and research equipment for the sheep and beef industries.
