THERE was a much larger yarding of sheep and lambs compared to the previous fortnight at Mount Pleasant on Thursday last week, at about 2500 head.
Prices were firm on the previous sale.
Lambs sold to a $164 for a line of 26 from Hearnden Farms, Keyneton.
Another Keyneton producer Sally McCarthy had the second-highest price for lambs at $160 for eight.
Hoggets made to $132, for six from TA Frayne, Bletchley, while HD&ML Jones, Williamstown, had five make $126.
With the cattle, there were about 250 yarded.
Heavy cattle sold well, but store types continue to struggle.
Heifers sold to $1000 for an Angus and a Red Angus from Torrens Run, Mount Pleasant.
Steers topped at $1220 for two Herefords from SO Richardson, Mount Pleasant.
Cows also sold to a high of $1220 for seven Poll Herefords from MacLachlan Props, Pewsey Vale.
