AVENUE Range beef and sheep producer Mandy Giles will join the Livestock SA board from the annual general meeting on September 14.
Ms Giles is the livestock manager at her family’s Crower property and is passionate about ensuring livestock producers voices are heard.
She has volunteered on Cattle Council of Australia’s animal health, welfare and biosecurity policy committee for the past four years, and is a past SA representative in the Rising Champions initiative.
She has also been the SA representative on Cattle Council since late 2016 and regularly attends Livestock SA’s southern branch meetings.
There was no election this year with five nominations for five board positions.
Andrew Clarke, Allandale Station, Oodnadatta, did not renominate after his two-year tem.
Those re-elected were Livestock SA president Joe Keynes, Keyneton, vice president Penny Schulz, Field, Jamie Heinrich, Parndana and Bill Nosworthy, Sheringa.
The new and re-elected board members join continuing members; treasurer Gillian Fennell, Marla, Mark Dennis,Koppio, Kate McLachlan, Gawler River, Richard Halliday, Bordertown and Allan Piggott, Moorlands.
