NAVIGATING Future Pathways is an initiative within the Department of Education.
NFP staff are based in different sites around the State, supporting a portfolio of schools to establish Vocational Education and Training programs, support SACE achievement and improvement, support STEM engagement and implement Career Development strategies.
Eyre Peninsula schools with senior secondary enrolments have made a commitment to offer subjects including SACE and VET to students from other sites across the Eyre Peninsula.
This is referred to as Local Delivery.
Local Delivery provides students in all schools across the Eyre Peninsula access to a wider range of subjects than what is physically available at their own school.
Local Delivery students enrol at their home school for the subjects that are offered and then may enrol in other schools for particular subjects.
Students are mentored by a teacher from the Local Delivery site with regular contact and tutorial support.
Examples of Local Delivery offerings that students have engaged in over the last few years include Specialist Maths, Legal Studies, Biology and Psychology, Certificate III Fitness, Certificate III Sport and Recreation, Certificate III Health Services Assistance, Certificate II Salon Assistance, Certificate Engineering and Certificate II Construction.
The Local Delivery model has allowed students to stay in their local community, stay connected with their friends, family and support networks and complete a full range of subjects at school which supports their post school pathway.
Visit NFP in the TAFE SA Marquee at the field days for more information about how Local Delivery could support your students to access a full range of subjects, helping them to meet their full potential and let them stay on the Eyre Peninsula.
