BREEDER Jason Able will officially release a new durum variety at the Southern Australia Durum Growers Association crop walk at Roseworthy on Wednesday, September 5.
The SADGA Mid North durum crop walk starts at 9:30am, meeting at the Roseworthy trial site on the western side of Mudla Wirra Road, about five kilometres north of the Roseworthy college entrance.
Speakers include SARDI principal research officer Hugh Wallwork and plant pathologist and research scientist Marg Evans, talking about crown rot research.
University of Adelaide technical officer Sam Deed will cover the SA Grain Industry Trust’s nitrogen use efficiency project, while Nufarm field development officer David Keetch will look at the company’s trials and research.
The GRDC sodic trial and SAGIT drone project will be covered by University of Adelaide post-doctoral research fellow Rhiannon Schilling and ARC Industrial Hub’s Delphine Fleury and Melissa Garcia are also speaking.
On Wednesday, October 10, SADGA will hold its South East durum crop walk, starting at midday from the Wolseley Community and Recreation Centre.
