A SALEYARD record was achieved at Ouyen, Vic, last week, with 38 crossbred lambs from M.U.T., Tempy, Vic, making $256.
There were 10,976 lambs and 6847 mutton on offer, for a total yarding of 17,823.
Export crossbred lambs made from $6.80 a kilogram to $7.50/kg, trades from $7-$7.50/kg and store from $6.30-$7.50/kg.
Making the second highest price was MG Lynch, Morkalla, Vic, with 81 crossbreds at $254. The same vendor also sold a further 56 at $236.
Both making $250 with their crossbreds were J Hahnel Noms, Timberoo, Vic, with 57, and N&R Monaghan, Tempy, with 52.
SA vendors also made good money, with Mallee View Props, Galga, selling 78 crossbreds at $236, GM&JL Obst, Loxton, had 170 at $230 and Griffiths Machinery, Loxton, had 24 make $211.
Other Vic crossbred sellers included M&R Fitzgerald, Werrimul, with 57 at $246, Sonwil, Werrimul, 29 at $245, J&P Heaslip, Trinita, Vic, 32 at $245 and Roberts Farms, Speed, 33 at $238.
Light Merinos made from $59-$110 or $6.50-$7/kg and heavies from $175-$220 or $6.80-$7/kg.
Topping the Merino section was P.O.B, Tempy, with 88 at $220.
Light mutton sold from $50-$100 or $4.70-$5.70/kg and heavies from $120-$181 or $5-$5.70/kg.
Making the highest price for mutton was Annerley Props, Lameroo, with 178 at $181. The second highest mutton price was $179 for 90 from G&J Flohr, Lameroo.
Both making $169 for their mutton were RJ Day, Lameroo, with 65, and Knight Family Trust, Peake, with 42.
Selling the top Dorper lambs were Swamp Rd Dorpers, Karadoc, Vic, with 25 at $160.
