Keith will become a revhead’s paradise this weekend for the town’s massive Diesel and Dirt Derby.
The event has grown from a small hopsital fundraiser attended by a few hundred people in 2012 to more than 10,000 people at the Keith Showgrounds last year.
Organisers have another action-packed program is in place for this year.
Forty modified tractors will compete in round seven of the ATPA national championships, making it the best attended event on the championship circuit.
Eighteen headers will crash and smash to the last one standing in Australia’s only Header Demolition Derby, and 30 V8 jet boats from the Australian Formula Jet Sprint Association will compete on the purpose-built jet boat track.
DDD chairman Glen Simpson, said after the huge number of hours spent creating the track, it was fantastic to see the track surrounds transformed to lush grass.
“I am sure that the jet boat racers and the public will enjoy the event even more this year,” he said.
“It looks amazing, having come from all dirt last year to this lush looking track now.”
There will also be jump cars, off road buggies, an aerobatics display by Chris Sperou and a Centurion tank display.
The event will be held on Saturday March 24 from 7:30am to midnight.
