Public consultation for the draft Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines for Poultry will close on Monday, February 26, after a 90-day consultation process that began in November last year.
Animal Health Australia are seeking submissions to decide how efficiently the draft Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines for Poultry ensure the welfare of poultry in Australia and if the associated Regulation Impact Statement demonstrates the need for the standards, and identifies alternative options, key costs and benefits for poultry producers, government and the wider community.
It is the first time in more than fifteen years that the Australian guidelines have been reviewed.
Submissions can be emailed to publicconspoultry@animalhealthaustralia.com.au.
