WARNERTOWN stud Goolagong has shown Santa Gertrudis cattle for decades, but this year made its debut in the Angus ring.
It shot into the winners’ circle with reserve junior champion bull and the blue ribbon in the sire’s progeny group with three animals by Pathfinder Genesis G357 – the top ranking bull on the Angus breeding index.
The Tiller family’s six head were all juniors and the first drop from their extensive AI and ET program.
“We thought we would boost the numbers and also show people what we are breeding,” stud principal Heath Tiller said.
The Tillers have continued to invest in top genetics, buying this year’s junior champion bull Black Diamond 8088 Complement M400 from Pine Creek Angus stud for $15,000 during the show.
