Landmark Fawcett Mount Pleasant’s Colin Fawcett was still surprised at how much livestock was yarded in the end, after 50 millimetres to 75mm fell across most of the Adelaide Hills region.
“A lot of people just couldn’t get to their sheep and couldn’t get them out (of the property),” he said.
“People went to great lengths to get their stock to the sale.”
With small numbers and a strong trend across markets, livestock sold well across the board.
Crossbred lambs made up the bulk of the sheep yarding, and Mr Fawcett said they were certainly dearer than at the last sale.

HT Hein, Pallamanna, sold 19 ewes at $90.
The cattle yarding was also reduced, but Mr Fawcett said it was strong across all classes.
